The EP/album "Recreated By Sound" is my first professional release in recent years!

It´s the result of a life change I´ve committed in the last three years and a resurrection from some severe personal defeats, letdowns and crises I´ve been thru which felt to me like having crumbled into pieces. So the title summarizes and reflects the way playing music, composing songs and producing and diving into sound(s) helped me to reassemble and recreate my life and my personality from shambles.

The seven songs on „Recreated By Sound“ are the result of a long journey since I started playing guitar at the age of 13 and developing my skills as a composer and producer over the years, experiencing with different sound and music styles, such as blues, jazz, rock and heavy metal, as well as house and electronic music elements.

Finally I wanted to create a vivid and powerful mixture of the sound I love: electronic drums, basses and syntheziers on the one hand as well as the sound of natural instruments like acoustic and distorted guitars, pianos, strings, brasses and modern vocals on the other hand. The drums and basses are mostly at the very center of my attention. After having learned Blues and Jazzguitar – learning the technique of improvisation helped me to take a huge step in songwriting and composing - I turned into playing much Rock and Metal music when I was about 17 years having a Metal band. Accordingly I still love this kind of music genre and especially it´s driving powerful drumsounds and rythm parts.

So the sound of the album or the music genre is best to describe as Electronic Pop with a grain of Rock.

For my debut I choose 7 powerful and pushing songs because this is exactly how I feel right now: powerful, positive-minded and ready to fullfill my dreams (and this includes also my work as a digital crossmedia artist and designer - see my works on www.taijntorijn.com)!

So to put it in simple words: Listen to my music, become your own superhero and live your dreams!

The songs vary musically and lyrically dealing with and pushing different emotions.

The English vocal track "We're Here To Party" is about a regained positive attitude towards life and the desire to enjoy life with friends again and to go out partying all night in clubs, especially after the corona lockdowns. Musically I put the focus on a clear electronic bass and powerful drums adding some decent synths in the verses and choruses. It´s a fast pace and cool club tune.

In „High Times“ – also an English vocal track - I deal with the search for and the hope to find the one and only partner you wanna stay together with for the rest of your life and the feeling of falling in love and the power of a loving relationsship. This is slower track in which I tried to create a powerful chorus with synths, acoustic guitars and brasses while the instrumentation in the verses are reduced to a pumping sub bass, some little background synths, vocal synths and a special flanger and airy vocal sound.

Since I´m a German artist – however I feel more like an European, a cosmopolitan and world citizen – there are also two German vocal tracks on the EP/album.

The song „Wir geben Gas“ (best translated as „Let´s push the pedal to the medal“) is also about partying with your best buddies and friends and having a wild ride! Musically I tried to start this fast track with a powerful distorted guitar riff which is the main theme in the verses. Around this riff I added fat synth basses for a dirty and thick bassy sound while I kept the electronic drums powerful and supporting but simple. In the chorus I wanted to create a powerful and catchy variation of sing along vocals and „rock“-voiced rap parts.

„Feier Fall“ ( English: „Free fall“) is about the thoughts and feelings I deal with having a depression. I tried to describe my personal and innermost feelings from the beginning of a depressive period when feeling things starting to fall apart and all the dark way down to the bottom while nothing can stop me from this point until the crash. I just want to show and explain the dark universe people are in having a depression, of course, I can only tell from my own personal perspective which might vary drastically from other people´s thoughts and feelings during such a horrible time. I hope that unaffected people who are dealing with a depressed person and want to help them will get a better understanding through the lyrics of what such a condition feels like for those affected. The music supports the quite negative message and meaning of the lyrics. It´s again a fast-paced track with dark and reduced synthesizer sound in the verses and again a catchy powerful sing along chorus.

The songs „Magic Sax“ is again a powerful driving upbeat track in which I tried to put the focus on the a Sax plying the main melody and a simple almost brutal drum beat as the counterpart.

While „Embrace“ holds a super powerful multilayered synth sub bass shaking your bones and completed by supplementing diverse synths melodies which all together builds up to a pushing chorus. The sound and the melodies of the song underline it´s title „Embrace“ and shall give4 the listener a positive feeling empowering them to go out and show the people you love and like what you feel for them. On the other hand the title summarizes my personal attitude to embrace the present and living here and now instead of postponing the fullfillment of dreams to far into the future because we never know what it holds for us.

„No Limits!“ is the longest track on the record and also an instrumental mix. Here I just wanted to compose everything around a heavy distorted guitar riff introducing the song pretty much like a rock song. To support and keep this rock feeling through out the song I built some fitting dirty synthesizers around the guitar riff completed by hooking melodies and natural supporting instrumentation like a sax in the second verse and brasses in the chorus. When I composed this song I had a action movie in mind with you and me as the superhero. The song shall empower everyone who´s listening to it to push personal limits when needed or whenever we feel weak to get up again and go on.
